Over the last year my life has changed for the better. I was at the doctor one day and she told me that I have early arthritis in my hip. I was 32. Far too early to be developing arthritis! I have been overweight all my life but never have I been told that I needed to lose weight before. It was quite a blow. The thing is that I’ve never seen myself as overweight. I’ve simply seen myself as someone who needed to lose some weight. I decided to make a major change. I decided I wasn’t going to fool around with weight loss anymore. I joined a gym and got a trainer. I consider myself lucky to have met Ryan when I did. He has been supportive in my fitness and weight loss unlike anyone else in my life. He helped me lose 40lbs in the last year and 6% of my body fat. I am now able to deadlift 170lbs. I’m running for the first time in my life and training for my first 5k this summer. I’ve also gone from a size 22/24 to a 12 which has been very good for my self-esteem. I haven’t been a size 12 in the last 10 years. The rise in my self-esteem has enabled me put myself out there and socialize with new people. I love that my social life hasn’t had to be put on hold during the last year. If anything it has gotten more active.
While working with Ryan my goals have changed significantly. I now understand the benefits of clean eating (though it’s a struggle at times), weekly exercise and better choices when eating out. Protein has become an important part of my daily eating. It helps get my metabolism going and with cleaner eating I have more energy at work and in my off time. I have struggled with compulsive overeating for the last 11 years but with Ryan’s help we have put together a comprehensive eating and exercise plan that has helped curb the anxiety that triggers my overeating. It is a good feeling to be doing something positive about that. I’m not going to say that it has all been easy or that my weight loss has always been linear. It hasn’t. I can say that I feel like I will be able to use the tools I have learned from Ryan to maintain a healthier lifestyle for years to come. Again, I feel that I’m lucky to have met him. I recommend him to all of my friends and hand out business cards to everyone who asks me how I’ve lost so much weight. He is there for me when I have questions or needs motivation. He’s right there via email or text every time giving good advice and being support. He lets me go at my own place and I strive to push myself. Hi my name is Danielle, I am twenty one years old. Ryan has been my personal trainer for over two years now. My goal with Ryan was to lose weight, tone, and become healthier. He has been with me through my ups and downs, always keeping me motivated and on task. Ryan never judges me when I am having a bad day, not eating right, or not working out. He helped me obtain one of my biggest achievements yet, which was to run a half marathon the summer of 2015 at Disneyland. Without his help and expertise I could never have had the courage to run this half marathon. He helped me train by going and doing sprint workouts with me. He put together running programs, and gave me the proper strength training I needed. He does a great job keeping me positive and motivated. I have since ran many 5 and 10k’s and am currently training for my second half marathon for the summer of 2016. About 2 1/2 years ago I met Ryan at a fitness center and decided to work with him to help with strength training. At the time, my main goal was to lose weight. I had bad cholesterol and my blood pressure was high for my age (57). I also have back and neck issues. I felt if I lost weight, I could correct many of these issues.
Ryan trained me once a week for two years. He kept encouraging me and continually talked about nutrition. He adjusted my workouts when I was having issues with my back and kept me on task the other days I worked out on my own. When Ryan opened his own business, I decided to try his online training program. I have been training with him this way for the last six months. He gave me direction every week and kept me focused through consistent communication via text or email. I have now lost 25 pounds! My blood pressure is low and my cholesterol is much better.
Ryan was the perfect trainer for me. I gave him a lot of excuses and complaints but he was always positive and encouraging.
I have a crazy lifestyle that involves travel between Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada constantly. Despite that obstacle, I’ve also dealt with a great deal of health/pain issues from lack of SI Joint mobility, knee pain, and a rotator cuff issue that made me unable to lift anything above my head without major pain. That said, since I started working with Ryan 2 years ago I’ve gone from 321 lbs to 275 lbs and I have a range of mobility I haven’t achieved in over 3 years. Ryan has patiently worked with me to attain more nutritional stability. He has worked with my Physiotherapist in Canada to insure my goals with weight loss and mobility can be done safely without reinjuring (I can now hold a plank for 30 sec which a year ago I was not allowed to do anything but modified planks or lift more than 10lbs). He has helped me get to a point of lifting 10 lbs easily above my head and has helped me continue to achieve much less pain when I move which has allowed me to get back outside and enjoy walks and hikes with my husband. I look forward to seeing my continued successes as I continue my work with Ryan.
I started working out in January 2015. In June, I started training with Ryan. He tailored my workouts to accommodate the arthritis in my joints, so I rarely have any pain. In fact, I’m painfree most of the time now. Ryan coached me with his expertise in nutrition and food logging to help me achieve fantastic results last year. I lost 9.75% body fat, 24 pounds, and lowered my cholesterol and blood pressure to normal levels. He uses his considerable skill and knowledge of training to continually inspire me to continue on my fitness quest.

I had been exercising 5-6 times a week for over 6 months with very little results-I was working hard but not losing weight or looking fit. I decided to make a change and see a personal trainer. In approximately 5 months, I lost 30 lbs and went from 32-25% body fat. I have worked with trainers before and saw little results. Ryan was different. He is very conscientious about goals, exercise plans and injuries. Don’t expect him to sit or be a bystander when you are exercising with him. He demonstrates the exercises, walks around to check your form and says encouraging words when you would rather just quit and eat that bag of Tostitos. He is also very mindfull of injuries and switching plans to accommodate a sore muscle. Healthy eating and food choices were some of my biggest obstacles. I am not good with nutrition and had a hard time remembering what was in food. With Ryan’s steadfast response to email questions and help from a useful mobile app healthy food choices have become an integral part of my routine. An added benefit is now my husband and children are eating healthier, too. At times, I have questioned why I was doing things or why I was doing an exercise that seemed crazy. I am here to tell you to trust the process, trust Ryan, follow the exercise plan given when you work out on your own during the week and trust in yourself and results will happen.
While I was pregnant with my third child, I felt heavy and uncomfortable and promised that after he was born, I would start working out again and get back in shape. Another factor that was weighing on my mind was that my paternal grandmother had died of a heart attack at 55. While I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, I developed high blood pressure and began taking medication following the pregnancy. I started working with Ryan in August of 2014 and shared my weight loss goals with him. Shortly after that a friend encouraged me to do the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. While completing the challenge, I kept food and exercise logs and figured out how to eat healthier and make better choices. Ryan started reviewing my food logs and continues to help me figure out which combinations of food to eat and what my calorie intake should be. I lost 11.5 lbs. during the challenge and have lost a total of 50 lbs. over the last six months working with Ryan. I no longer have high blood pressure nor do I have to take medication and feel better than I have in years. Ryan’s continued support and guidance with exercise and nutrition have a had a huge impact on my ability to be successful and move as rapidly as I have towards my weight loss goals and healthier lifestyle. I started training with Ryan, when as a bucket list goal in my mid 40s, signed up for a sprint triathlon. Mind you, I had never been a runner nor could even run 1/4 mile when we began our training. Over the course of twelve weeks, Ryan worked with me to increase my strength, speed and endurance such that on race day, I finished in a time far better than I what I could have imagined achieving (and had a blast doing it). With Ryan’s smart training and motivation, my racing success continues (12 minute mile last summer to running consistent 7 minute miles in one year) and I have grown passionate about something I never thought I would be capable of doing. Even more importantly, I think working towards and achieving my fitness goals has made me a better person, wife and mom. Ryan has a winning attitude and cares about his clients and their success in achieving their goals, whatever those goals may be. I am lucky to say I train with him.
I have been training with Ryan twice a week for the past year. During this time my strength, endurance and balance have improved significantly. I run track and field for the Special Olympics and over the past year my times have continued to improve. As a competitor I have competed at the State games where I won three gold medals. At the National games in 2014 I medaled in three events including one gold medal. Ryan is now training me to compete in the World Special Olympic Games in 2015. Under Ryan’s direction I have not only gained speed and strength, I have gained confidence in myself, a belief in my ability and a desire to be a strong competitor. The accomplishments I have achieved are due to the consistent support and encouragement Ryan gives me. He challenges me, which has made me a better athlete and person.
I met Ryan about a year ago and my goal at the time was to lose some weight. My once a week training sessions with Ryan have changed for me over the course of the year. I transitioned from training to lose weight, to training for a 10k and half marathon. From learning what to eat to keep my body strong, to learning hip/core exercises to keep my running pain free, I am now much stronger than one year ago. Anyone can start training to run as I did, but learning to strengthen my hips and core has really been the key to my running success. Thank you Ryan!
I had been working out for several years but got away from it. I needed the motivation to get back into a routine. Also, my weight was creeping up and I knew I needed to do something. Previously I never had exposure a professional trainer. I would checkout various websites and tried some training sessions mostly in group settings. I had tried weight loss classes but they didn’t coordinate with an exercise program. I never really had someone work with me to put together a complete exercise and weight loss program so I could reach my goals. Ryan provided both the motivation and the proper training program.
The biggest difference was having an exercise and diet program that addressed my goals and would change as I progressed. In addition to having a variety of exercises Ryan taught me how eating the proper foods and quantities would have an impact. The exercise program and weight loss program worked hand in hand and was tailored to my goals. The exercises varied as time passed hitting different areas and increasing in intensity. The weight loss was about learning and understanding foods and then how they impact weight loss. I revised my diet to work in conjunction with my exercise program. Ryan took the time to understand what I wanted to accomplish and then put together an evolving program for tailored to me.
The hardest part was the beginning. Getting myself motivated and learning how to discipline myself. Then keeping with the program and not giving up. There were many times when I didn’t feel like exercising or I wanted that extra treat. Ryan gave me the motivation and helped show me that if I could maintain the discipline the desired results would come with time and they did!
As my training effort began to work and I began seeing positive results it motivated me even more to continue to stick to the program. Today I feel extremely good about myself and how I look at exercise and my diet. It’s a much different outlook previous to beginning my training. My confidence level is high knowing I can successfully manage my exercise program and diet. Today I watch my diet as a secondary thought not obsessing over every piece of food. I like to exercise now and miss it when I am not able to do it. It’s a really good feeling! Looking back it has been well worth the time and effort.
I decided to begin working with Ryan because he asked me up front what my weight loss and workout goals were. All of my other trainers never asked my what I wanted to achieve. Ryan’s program was different from every other trainer because we worked at my pace and every session wasn’t a timed event. The other trainers wanted to time every activity and were more interested in shortening the times instead doing the exercise correctly. The hardest part about achieving my fitness goals with Ryan was trying to do too much. I started seeing the results immediately with Ryan’s program and thought that I should do more workouts than I should. Once I got close to achieving my goals I had more energy than I had in years. I was able to do the simple tasks that I had a hard time doing before starting with Ryan. Most of all I was able to keep up with my 5 year old grandson who has endless energy. Ryan is a great communicator and listener. He asked me what I wanted to achieve and he listened to my concerns. I’ve lost over 40 pounds training with Ryan and while it was hard work and a big commitment, the results were worth it.
I truly consider myself one of Ryan’s success stories. 8 months ago when I came to Ryan for a consult, my main focus was on losing weight and keeping it off and gaining some upper body strength. At the time, my weight loss plan was starvation and, for exercise, I was doing cardio classes 5 days a week and one strength class.
Ryan told me to focus on toning and eating right and not worry so much about losing weight, that would be a by-product of my program. Well, here it is 8 months later and I am eating 3 meals a day and snacking twice a day instead of one meal and no snacks and I have lost 12 pounds. He also changed up my exercise program with a balance of 4 days of strength training along with some cardio and core. I’m also eating smarter; lots of proteins, vegetables and fruits and eating foods I like. As Ryan told me when we started my nutrition plan, if you don’t like it, don’t eat it, I wouldn’t force myself to eat things I don’t like. Right then, I knew he was the right coach for me.
I reached my goals through Ryan’s On-line Program. With my crazy schedule, there was no way I had the time to drive to Waukesha once or twice a week. I like to exercise early in the morning or whenever I get some free time, so I couldn’t commit to a regular schedule with Ryan. His On-line Program really worked for me. We meet once a month to go over the proper way to lift weights or use the machines, I get a new workout, and we tweak my nutrition menu if needed. Then he sends me videos of how to properly do the workout. He encourages me to ask questions and send progress reports after every workout. Ryan is really good about answering questions right away.
I was really impressed with Ryan’s passion, dedication, and professionalism for his profession. He makes sure you get the right workout and nutrition for the goals you are trying to reach and he helps you set those goals so that you come out of your comfort zone when you are ready. I highly recommend his On-line Program if you have a busy schedule and cannot commit to in-person workouts. His program is basically a one-on-one with the videos he sends and the careful attention he pays to your progress. I didn’t ever feel as if I wasn’t getting enough attention even though I was not working with him in person. I am proof that the On-line Program really works. We are now on to my next goal which is running, which I have never done before, and I am excited to see the results later on this year.
For the past 35 years I have worked out 5-6 times per week. For the first 22 I was an avid runner, doing 10k’s and running 50-60 miles per week. The weight stayed off and I felt good. But then I was advised by a doctor to stop running, arthritis in a hip and running doesn’t go well together. I took up using an elliptical five to six times per week at 45 minutes to an hour. I felt good, but my weight went up slowly and I was soon 35 pounds heavier. Now I felt and looked fat! I started working with Ryan about 9 months ago and I am down 25 pounds. I have added weights to my routine, changed my elliptical routine and my diet. I use myfitness pal to log my food and what a difference it makes. It keeps me honest most of the time. I have made some lifestyle changes, and feel much better. Very little pain in my hip and I am stronger. Ryan’s advice and encouragement has been a real plus!
Because I live in Sheboygan, I am an online client of Right Body Fitness. I saw firsthand the success my two nieces were having with Ryan, that I just had to join. It has been almost a year and I can say I feel great. Ryan has a schedule that he starts you out on so you don’t get discouraged, he emails you weekly with new routines so you don’t get bored and we have needed calls whenever I want. He is never negative when you slide up, just ask “why you think that is”? I do drive to Waukesha to meet with him at 6:45 on a Saturday morning whenever I can. Ryan has become more then a coach and more like a very concerned friend who is very professional. Ryan has played a critical role in helping me become fit and healthier. Ryan has put together multiple workout programs that have helped me lose weight and build muscle. Over the course of a few months I lost 20+ lbs. and my muscle tone increased. More importantly, I have gained confidence and love to work out. Ryan is an integral and important person in my life to get me fit! When I first started with Ryan I did not like cardio workouts at all. I guess you could call me an avid exerciser…I have been a Jazzercise instructor for 26 years, have taken an infinite number of yoga, Pilates, TRX, dance and spin classes, am a long time gym goer and Weight Watcher. During all of those years, and in between having three babies, I managed to stay in pretty shape and ALMOST reached my goal weight MANY times. But, I realized if I wanted to see a real change in my body and weight I would need a new challenge. Hiring a personal trainer was the only thing I hadn’t tried. The thought of being one on one with and having to be accountable myself was overwhelming, but stepping out of my comfort zone was just what I needed. Ryan gave a welcoming “try it” speech at one of my gym classes and thought I would give it a chance. I have been working out with Ryan for over a year now. His expertise in the fitness field shows with the varied types of workouts he offers and with the different equipment we use. No two sessions are alike but, I trust I will be challenged and feel successful in each workout. Ryan is very conscious about safety and tailors my workouts around my knee injury. I began weekly sessions with Ryan in September of 2013. Over the course of two and a half years I have made numerous improvements to my overall health.
